INVERNESS LEISURE – NOTICE OF ALTERATION TO CLIMBING WALL ADMISSION POLICY

As a company, Caledonia Community Leisure Limited, operators of Inverness Leisure, has recently taken the decision to undertake a full and comprehensive restructure of our customer information storage system in order to be fully compliant with any foreseeable future alterations to the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
As part of this review a decision has been taken that, in line with other similar facilities, we will no longer retain copies of climbing instructor’s qualifications on file.
With effect from March 12th 2010 all instructors bringing a group to the wall for instruction will require to bring the following documentation on each and every occasion they visit the facility.
A minimum qualification of a Climbing Wall Award (CWA) or higher
A valid Climbing Activities Insurance certificate
A valid First Aid certificate
These will be checked prior to admitting the group to the wall and will then be returned to the instructor.
If, for any reason, any instructor is unable to provide this information entry to the facility will be denied.
Any documentation previously provided will be shredded and disposed of on March 12th 2010.
